Fred's right-on about this. I remember, back when I was in grade
school, in the early fifties, that there were soviets during the
1952 revolution, but my memory must be fading, since there haven't
been anything like that in Bolivia in many decades. These rather
prefectionistic types, such as Socialist Action and the Marxist.com
website, seem to be on the permanent warpath against Evo Morales
and the Movement Toward Socialism, for some reason, and they back
some other forces in Bolivian life which are leading the struggle
against Evo, but not against secession by the privileged areas.

FRED FUENTES writes:
Im sorry, i must have blinked and missed this magically sprouting of
soviets all across Bolivia that were on the verge of form a national
workers government and which was destroyed at the whim of a single
man. Or was it perhaps that Andy woke up and that the explanation for
the collapse of this workers government he talks about/imagined is
really that his nice dream came to an end.

Can Andy provide any evidence what so ever to this fanciful claim.
Where and when did these soviets form? What evidence is there are the
recent nationalisations of electricity, gas transport and other
companies are an expression of accomodating to international and local
capital?
