(Cuba is the only place in the world where there is a statue to the
memory of the Rosenbergs. Once I attended a commemorative activity
at its location with people from the U.S. and Cubans who work on
issues related to the United States in attendance. There were big
billboards posted in Cuba five years ago to mark the anniversary:
(The translation here says that a statue is being built, but it's
already been built and I haven't heard of a new one being built to
replace the existing one.)

The Rosenbergs Remembered in Cuba
KATIA LIBERIA GARCIA
A secret CIA memorandum dated January 22, 1953 reveals the aims of
the criminal trial rigged against the Rosenbergs. It was about
psychological warfare against communism, mainly around the Jewish
question. There was no spying nor secrets sold as alleged.
A MONUMENT TO THE ROSENBERGS
IS BEING BUILT AT PASEO AND ZAPATA STREETS IN HAVANA
The injustice that occurred 55 years ago is being remembered in the
Cuban capital by a monument being built at Paseo and Zapata Streets.
There, Jose Ramon Rodriguez Varona, president of the Cuban Movement
for Peace and Solidarity, spoke about the example of the Rosenbergs
today that is an inspiration for other defenders of humanity.
Both the Cuban and US flags were raised at the park that pays tribute
to the Rosenbergs.
HEIR TO AN EXECUTION: DOCUMENTARY ON CUBAN TV
''Heir to an Execution: A Granddaughter's Story,'' a documentary on
the Rosenbergs by Ivy Meeropol will be aired Friday at 6:00 p.m. on
national Cuban TV during the Round Table program.
Ivy is the granddaughter of the Rosenbergs who were executed in the
electric chair 55 years ago on June 19, 1953 after a scandalous
process of false accusations and testimonies that took the
anti-communist hysteria to a crescendo during the McCarthy period.
