Yossi writes:

Hezbollah leadership readiness to enter the government of "National Unity"
indicates the degree of their reformism, but it is not a solution to the
economic and political crisis that is part of the historical crisis of this
epoch. The idea that Hezbollah participation in a government that will
police the working class and the masses of poor peasants who trusted
Hezbollah, will end the crisis, is to mistaken the symptoms of the
problems with the roots of the problems in Lebanon

Hezbollah, at this moment in time, are playing a progressive role in the
region. They constitute a crucial component of the Arab resistance to US and
US-sponsored imperialism. That they do not conform to some sort of
Marxist/socialist purity checklist is neither here nor there based on existing material
conditions. As such, Yossi's analysis is ultra leftism of the worst sort.

In fact given the undeniable courage and ability of Hezbollah to
successfully resist one of the most advanced and barbaric military machines the world
has ever seen - doing so, albeit unwittingly, in the interests of not only
themselves but also of the international working class, it is we who need to gain
their approval for the work that we are doing in resistance to the same
neoliberal juggernaut in our own backyard instead of the other way round.
