New orders for manufactured durable goods in October decreased $1.0 billion
or 0.6 percent to $166.2 billion, the U.S. Census Bureau announced today.
This was the second monthly decrease in the last three months. This followed
a 2.0 percent September increase.
Excluding transportation, new orders decreased 1.3 percent. Excluding
defense, new orders increased 0.4 percent.
Machinery, down following two consecutive monthly increases, had the largest
decrease, $1.9 billion or 8.0 percent to $21.8 billion.
So let's see-- Financial corporations garner 95% of 3Q domestic profits in
the US. Durable goods orders, particularly machinery, decrease.
What was it Marx said about the bourgeoisie in The 18th Brumaire? "To get
rich not by producing wealth but by pocketing the already produced wealth of
others"-- something like that.
The modern version is, "To get rich not by pocketing the already produced
wealth of other but by liquidating the already pocketed wealth of others."
