This is why Padrig Pearse wrote new
lyrics and it is this version sung by
Sinéad O'Connor and used by the volunteers
of Óglaigh na hÉireann as shown in this
scene from "The Wind that Shakes the Barley."

have meaning today, and not just in Éire.
