Thank you for that list, I will check them out. However, not because they're leftist scientists. In fact, the attachment of a political affiliation to the term "scientist," even an affiliation I agree with, is anathema to the objective detachment science should have. The natural world, whether it's climate or genetics, does not follow any political ideology. Science, as a tool for observing and describing the natural world, should also be bereft of political ideology (as much as humanly possible).
Failure to do so gives us people like Michael Behe who try to use science to further religious beliefs, or one who tries to use it to deny climate change, etc. So I'm immediately suspicious of any X-scientist where X = an ideology.
