No doubt the AP piece is biased, but even if you strip  all spin  from the article the fact remains that Walker retains his majority in the legislature - and that is an undeniable defeat for labor.

The fact that state legislators are rarely recalled shows you part of the folly of the strategy. SR

That AP depicts this as a "crushing defeat" is a manifestation of the extent
to which the ruling class wants to crush ANY opposition, as was manifested
in the huge demonstrations in Wisconsin which morphed into this recall
effort. They would very much like to put a damper on that opposition, even
if funneled into the Democratic Party.
