I think it would be more accurate had I said this:
"In his latest interview, he strongly defends his support for
imperialist bombing to head off a supposedly-coming massacre in
Benghazi. And he heaps new and more offensive criticism on those
leftists who oppose such bombing.
The rest of the article is like his Jadaliyya.com article, in which he
speculates about why NATO didn't finish off Qaddafi faster, and
expresses confidence that a supposedly-mobilized mass movement will
deal with NATO in short order. And he repeats his dismissal of the
Egyptian revolution as supposedly having gone no farther than Libya or
elsewhere, a dismissal obviously to support his own position on Libya.
Because, after all, if there is in Egypt an organized working class
and a revolutionary socialist movement to point to as an alternative
to capitulation to imperialism, then Achcar's argument falls apart. So
he tries to head that off by ignoring the Egyptian working-class
movement."
My conclusion is still that he's an imperialist stooge.
