The Socialist Resistance statement was from April 5th. Clearly
events have outpaced the analysis.
The other thing that bothers me is its "Communique from Coyoacan"
character, an unfortunate legacy of the Trotskyist movement that I
would have hoped that people like the author Phil Hearse would
have dumped overboard long ago. As if raising the slogan "arm the
resistance" was anything more than empty rhetoric.
Of course, Fred takes to this sort of thing like a duck takes to
water, a reminder of his glory days in the SWP, when a week did
not go by when the geniuses at West Street were not issuing their
own empty communiques.
