Ah, so I guess he simply didn't mention this in that interview.
I didn't know such a harsh claim existed. I think the unique development in
the United States, while influenced by the lack of developing out of
feudalism, is much more complicated than simply lack of feudalism.
A country that developed through local slavery and importing cheap labor
(with the false promise of being able to actually survive on ones free
labor) from many diverse countries (Germany, China, Ireland, Mexico, ...)
has, I think, been in a unique position for the bourgeoisie to divide the
working class. And this certainly isn't simply from the lack of feudalism.
