I didn't attend the panels Louis describes. But I did attend three
workshops sponsored by the ISO: on the antiwar movement, on Islamophobia
and on Egypt. All three were superb and had just the right mix of socialist
and/or movement speakers.
I also attended a panel on labor and Occupy, which featured a leading labor
Occupy activist who's an ISOer, and had several other leading ISO labor
Occupy activists in the audience. Their contributions were great.
Finally regarding Louis's statement below. This is simply 100% factually
incorrect. I have said several times on this list, and will say as often as
I need to with as much detail as required, that the ISO and my group,
Socialist Action, have done an outstanding job of building labor Occupy and
Occupy itself, and that our ideas and practice have made a difference in
forging and maintaining unity and militancy. The anarchists at its core
respect us and very much welcome our active participation even when we
