[Marxism] Must India Ravage To Rise?

India’s 1.3 billion population can not in any time in
future, expect to get access to natural resources on the scale that Americans
do now. It is simply against the very law of nature, as the requirement on such
a scale is beyond the capability of Mother Nature. China also faces the same
problem. At the same time, America’s squandering of precious non-renewable
resources poses a grave danger to humanity and to the biosphere as a whole. I
have seen people in US driving SUVs alone everyday for tens of miles to office
and back. This is simply unthinkable here in India.
The only alternative for countries like India and China is
developing local economies that do not squander resources and there is more
reliance on renewable energy sources. This is not as easy as stated. Powerful
business interests in India are preventing the widespread adoption of solar
energy. They insist on promoting coal fired and nuclear power plants.  Ultimately, we came back to the question of
replacing  the neo-liberal order with an
anti-capitalist alternative.
