You just only recently were giving some gushing praise to Harpers!
When I saw your earlier post of praise, I did not comment then about WHY I was among those
who did a sit in at the Harper's Magazine office over forty three years ago, on their homophobic
articles then appearing in the late 1960's and into 1970. We dared to challenge them!
Harper's like many Left/Liberal publications was not so liberating around Gay & Lesbian people.
I give it less praise than you previously were gushing about it!
Glad the corporate side of Harper's emerged to place things in better perspective. Their
office in the 1960's was very nice and corporate - and nothing has changed about their
values of selling ideas to who could afford and not just sharing with all - not concerned
with profits and copyrights. They are just another corporate structured magazine
whose staff cares far more about their wages than socialist principles and ideas being
placed into practice!
