The father of a Chechen man killed while being interrogated over his ties
to a Boston bombing suspect has accused the FBI of executing his son.

The FBI says Ibragim Todashev, 27, was shot when he suddenly attacked an
agent during questioning at his apartment in Miami last

Agents were questioning Mr Todashev over his connection to the Boston
marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev, and a triple slaying in
Massachusetts in 2011.

His father Abdulbaki Todashev questioned the FBI's account of what happened
at a news conference in Moscow, saying his son was unarmed and had been
shot several times.

He accused the FBI of killing his son "execution style", and showed
reporters 16 photographs of his body on a medical table with several wounds
on his torso and one on his head.

"You question a person for eight hours and you can provoke him to do
anything," he said.

"There was no lawyer, no witnesses, nobody.

"We can only guess what was going on there.

"These are not FBI agents but bandits... and they must be tried."

Mr Todashev dismissed suggestions that his son may have grabbed a kitchen
knife or tried to wrest a gun from an agent as "absurd".

He said there was no reason a handful trained officers could not subdue a
lone young man without killing him.

Mr Todashev said his son had gone to the same gym as Boston bombing suspect
Tamerlan Tsarnaev in Massachusetts, but said they were not close friends.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev and his brother Dzhokhar, 19, are suspected of planting
bombs that exploded near the finish line of the Boston Marathon on April
15, killing three people and wounding 264.
