[Marxism] Demand for UK food banks surges as welfare cuts bite

A new report released by Oxfam shows half a million people now depend on
food banks.

The organisation says rising food and fuel costs and unemployment are
partly to blame, but it says recent cuts to welfare benefits are having a
significant impact.

Food bank users in west London say changes to disability benefits has also
hit hard.
