Obama was forced to react to Bashar al-Assad. Once an American president
states that there is a "red line" that must not be crossed, he has to
resort to some kind of military posturing. If there had not been an
attack of such major proportions in Ghouta, the White House would have
remained with its arms folded as it had for the past 2 years. Of course,
there are many people on the left who believed that the rebels were
responsible for the chemical attack in a "false flag" operation in order
to drag America into a war. Don't ask them for an analysis of the
evidence, however. It is like asking a Jehovah's Witness for proof of
god. Some things are just taken as faith.
