To describe a historical event in terms of "national oppression" is
precisely to *refuse* to understand it in class terms. In the history
of the ukraine that "fight against national oppression" trope is of
absolutely equal validity as a description of Bandera, of Petliura, of
Khmelnitski, as of the present Kiev regime. The State of Israel
presents everything it does--with total sincerity--as a fight against
the millenias-long national oppression of the Jewish people (which is
what lies behind the refusal of Netanyahu to line up with his usual
obedience behind the US's anti-Russia campaign). It is a good example
of the gross deviation that Rosa Luxemberg recognized in Lenin's
approach to the "national question," a deviation that ultimately
turned the Bolshevik Leninists of the "Fourth International" into
apologists for murderous dictatorial "nationalist" regimes like that
of the FLN in Algeria and today provides its disputing fragments with
justification for alliance with all sorts of antagonistic nationalist
(and even religious) scum like the ruling gangs in todays Moscow and
Kiev!
