What can one say? This is neo-liberalism at work. The ingredients are a
rapacious ruling class, and a host of faceless bureaucrats fully committed
to administering the system. That is how the banality of evil operates.
The other key element in the mixture is a long suffering working class who
have been on the retreat for since the 70s.
We should also link up the Irish experience with the recent Australian
proposal to "scrutinize" people under 35 with a disability pension. They
have had it too easy according to the Australian Government.
We will see how long the working class will retreat and suffer. I am
deeply committed to the belief that we are close to the end of that retreat.
