I assume this is directed at me. Someone on another forum suggested that she was committed to the end of capitalism rather than its cure. I replied as follows. Do you consider it “purist”? 

"I may be mistaken, but I'd be surprised if she means by the end of capitalism the economic and political expropriation of the bourgeoisie and the replacement of private by public ownership of the major industries, as happened in the USSR, China, and Cuba, consistent with the traditional understanding of the socialist movement. Naomi seems to have more in mind a radical reform of the system and strict regulation of the corporations. That's not meant as a criticism of her position; this may be the maximum program possible in the current circumstances, and still sufficiently radical to effectively address climate change and all the other major issues. But "anti capitalism", as you know, can mean many things to many people, and it is necessary to know what content is put into the concept. Naomi is also on the board of directors of Bill McKibben’s350.org which is perhaps another indication of her political orientation."
