If this is the case, why does the bourgeois press continue to view
Syriza as an obstacle to its plans? In Callinicos's simple way of
looking at things, the "reformists" have to be moved out of the way so
that a genuinely "revolutionary" party like Antarsya can lead the masses
to socialism. Perhaps the miniscule vote for Antarsya in the last
election should be the focus of his attention rather than Syriza's
misdeeds. Revolutions don't come about because of criticism of
misleaders but by building a genuine leadership. Indeed, the failure of
the British SWP or any of its satellites to amount to much more than a
sliver on the far left is the real problem facing us, not the failure of
a Eurocommunist party to lead a proletarian revolution.
