We need your support!

Please join the Law Students for Justice in Palestine and the National
Lawyers Guild for a silent vigil this Friday, 11/6, from 11:45am-12:15pm in
the Vanderbilt Courtyard, 40 Washington Square South. We will hold signs,
remember those who have been killed by Israeli forces, and oppose the
culture of dehumanization of Palestinians that has become pervasive on US
campuses <https://ccrjustice.org/the-palestine-exception>.

The purpose of the vigil is to stand in solidarity with oppressed
populations in Palestine which are currently living under occupation. In
addition to the hundreds of children and thousands of Palestinian civilians who
were murdered last year
<http://imeu.org/article/50-days-of-death-destruction-israels-operation-protective-edge>,
we are horrified by recent extra-judicial killings on Palestinian land
<https://www.amnesty.org/download/Documents/MDE1525292015ENGLISH.pdf>. We
hope that the vigil will shed light on human suffering in Palestine.

This vigil -- we hope the first of many -- is being co-sponsored by the
Muslim Law Students Association, the South Asian Law Students Association,
the Coalition on Law and Representation, Law Students for Human Rights, the
Women of Color Collective, *NYU Students for Justice in Palestine* and
others.

We would appreciate your support especially considering that Palestine
solidarity has been under constant fire at NYU, particularly at the NYU
School of Law. From harassing organizers with angry and aggressive e-mails,
many sent out publicly to the law school at large, to attempts to curtail
open forums for speech, and empty accusations of "anti-Semitism," there is
a toxic atmosphere for speaking out about Palestinian rights at the NYU
School of Law.

Please join us and let us know if you or your organization would like to
co-sponsor the event.
