Thanks very much for the commendation Louis.
The particular blog I was writing about, however, was not Redline but the
Irish blog I do.
However, we certainly wouldn't say 'no' to more people writing for Redline
In relation to Ireland, I do have a political attachment. I'm a member of
the supporters' network for eirigi, although I don't belong to the party
itself. My view is that in Ireland a regroupment is urgently needed of
left-republicans, involving at the very least eirigi, IRSP, RNU (and
possibly the 32CSM - the situation with the 32s is complicated by the fact
that they are politically aligned with an armed organisation and the time
for armed organisations has passed for the forseeable future).
If those currents merged then we certainly would have a party in a real
sense of that word.
I'm not much interested in the Trotskyist groups in Ireland. There day
never came and it's not going to - mainly because they are hopeless on the
national question and because they totally misjudged the armed struggle
question (they opposed it when it was actually necessary and impossible to
build anything serious without being involved in it).
But the trots aren't the only people capable of being hopelessly divided
when there is no need for it. . .
Again, thanks. I always appreciate your efforts to shake up the left and
its thinking and so your support on this is also much appreciated.
