Note the long list of endorsers on page 3 of the report pdf. The list not
only testifies to the broad support for the report, but is yet another
handy response to those claiming not to know who to support in Syria,
whether out of cynical indifference or apathetic ignorance.

Dear Andrew,

Billions of dollars of the world’s aid has been entrusted to the UN in
Syria. It is meant to go first to the most vulnerable, those at risk of

But that aid isn’t reaching them.

Today we launch an extensive report - Taking Sides: The United Nations’
loss of impartiality, independence and neutrality in Syria [1] - which
shows a key part of the reason why.

>From the beginning of the uprising in 2011, the Syrian government

staff would have their visas revoked and they’d be kicked out of the

The regime learned that a divided UN with no red lines could be manipulated
to its advantage. That is why hundreds have starved to death only a few
minutes' drive from UN warehouses full of aid.

This urgently needs to change.

*Join Syria’s largest humanitarian and human rights groups and sign the
petition demanding the UN set clear conditions for its cooperation with the
Syrian government

There are some brilliant people in the UN, some of them have contributed to
today’s investigation. They all agree that a stronger and more united UN
would help get aid to hundreds of thousands - if not millions - of

Our pressure will strengthen their hand.

Thank you,
