Actually, I think the author is an American teaching in a
Canadian university (will there be more once Trump takes
office?). But that in turn gives him some remarkable
insights into the road ahead for workers in both countries,
based on a comparison of the differing historical political
trajectories of labour, farmer and socialist activists in
the two countries, notwithstanding their similarities in
social structure. Well worth reading.
