One of the most interesting aspects of John Smith's work on 21st century
imperialism is his examination of how GDP and GNP figures don't really
measure the source of the work that creates a lot of global surplus-value.
A lot of what appears to be created in the First World, and is recorded as
being created there, is actually created by impoverished workers in the
Third World. We'll be writing up some of this on Redline.
