[Marxism] Helsinki: Was it "excellent"? Should we care?

After corresponding with Louis I got a better understanding of what he was
writing. However, his piece as it stands could appear to be saying he
doesn't care about the role of Putin in the last election nor about the
ties between Putin and Trump. Some people on the left have such a knee jerk
reaction to all the calls for "patriotism" and to "defend America" that
they don't consider what's going on here.
Those calls for patriotism simply mean that Trump is not under the thumb of
the mainstream of the US capitalist class. Instead, he's under the thumb of
the *Russian* capitalist class (or nearly so)! That is a development of
mammoth significance. It doesn't mean that the working class should call
for a return to US capitalist control. It simply means that we have to
start by considering the significance of this development.
That's what I tried to do in that article and the previous one
my blog site about the Helsinki meeting.
