Bienvenida a la Delegacion de Cuba a La Assamblea 73 de las
Naciones Unidas Y el nuevo Presidente de Cuba
       Miguel Díaz-Canel

     Dear Cuba Solidarity Activists,

*We can confirm that Miguel Diaz-Canel, President of the Council of
State and Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cuba will speak at
the historic Riverside Church on Wednesday, September 26 in
Manhattan. Our friend and brother Miguel Diaz-Canel was
elected**President of the Council of State in April 2018, succeeding
     President Raul Castro.*

This is a very special occasion and opportunity for us to give a
warm welcome to President Diaz-Canel. and all the other members of
the high-level Cuban Delegation who are here attending the annual
Fall opening of the United Nations General Assembly along with many
dozens of other jvjbheads of states and governments each Fall in New
York City. This will be an evening where /Cuba Speak for Itself./

The September 26 Event will be a unique opportunity to hear
firsthand, the top representative of Cuba discuss the current Cuban
reality and to present Cuba’s point of view on the burning issues of
world politics. Today, the Cuban people as a whole are engaged in a
mass, participatory process of debate and discussion to prepare and
ratify a new Constitution registering important economic, social,
     and political changes in Cuba.

September 26 will also be a great opportunity for all friends of
Cuba and all supporters of the normalization of US-Cuba relations to
express our determined opposition to the stepped up attacks on Cuba
under the Donald Trump White House. These include tightened travel
restrictions for US citizens and legal residents traveling to Cuba,
as well as the US-imposed near-freeze on Cubans visiting the United
States, including artists and musicians, doctors and scientists,
educators and trade unionists, and even family members.

In recent days we have also seen renewed propaganda and speculation
against Cuba regarding alleged “sonic” or “microwave” attacks on US
diplomatic personnel in Havana. This coincides with the upcoming
October 31 annual vote in the UN General Assembly which will, as it
does each year, overwhelmingly condemn Washington’s economic
blockade and political war against Cuba

In the context of US-Cuban history since the triumph of the Cuban
Revolution in 1959, we continue to say that the normalization of
US-Cuban relations can only mean: 1) an end to all of Washington’s
economic and travel sanctions against Cuba; 2) the return to Cuban
sovereignty of its territory in Cuba’s Guantanamo Province; and 3)
an end to all the subversive “regime change” programs designed to
overthrow the socialist Cuban government which practices genuine
     international solidarity worldwide.

*This email is a renewed invitation to attend this very special
event. If you have already reserved a seat, then you do not need to
