Cedar Hills City Management Intern

Job Summary:
This is a temporary part-time, non-benefitted, internship position
working with the City Manager.  The term of the internship will begin in
April, is one-year, and places a focus on the internal/external
municipal environment.

Duties:
- Performs a variety of studies and analyses relative to different
aspects of the City Organization.
- Assists in the completion of assigned projects.

Projects:
The following is a sampling of the types of projects/assignments which
the intern will either assist in or take the lead in completing:
• Assist the City celebration committee to organize and operating the
annual City celebration.
• Evaluate and refine the City’s building permit tracking process.
• Research and apply for grants for various capital projects.
• Help refine and upgrade the City’s budget document.
• Evaluate and analyze other management issues for the City.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Effective in oral and written communications.
- Deal effectively with the public.
- Proficient with WordPerfect, Windows98, Quattro/Excel, and general
computer knowledge and skills

Qualifications:
 Required- Currently enrolled in Master of Public Administration
Program.

Salary/Schedule: $9.00 Per hour
     20 Hours/week during school, 40 hours/week during summer (flexible
scheduling).
