NASPAA STUDENT INTERN/PROJECT ASSISTANT POSITION
The National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration
(NASPAA) is seeking to employ a master's level graduate student in
public administration, public affairs, or public policy for an
intern/project assistant position for 10-12 weeks during summer 2003,
starting in mid- to late-May.
The intern/project assistant position will be full-time, with pay
approximately $11-$13 per hour, depending on experience and graduate
school status. Applicants should have completed at least one year of a
master's program in public affairs, public administration, or public
policy; no specific concentration or specialization is required.
Individuals who will receive a master's degree in May 2003 and are able
to work through summer 2003 are welcome to apply.
Qualifications include excellent written communication, oral
communication, and interpersonal skills; computing and web skills; a
strong interest in public service and public service education; a desire
to work in a non-profit and academic-oriented setting; and an
understanding of the subject matter and values orientation of public
service education and practice.
The individual selected for this position will assist the seven regular
NASPAA staff in supporting and enhancing programs and services for
NASPAA's 250 institutional members. Specific projects will be developed
in consultation with the individual selected for this position; these
will include policy analysis assignments relating to such topics as
accreditation initiatives and the promotion and marketing of public
service education, as well as some regular office responsibilities.
NASPAA offices are located at 1120 G Street, NW, Suite 730, Washington,
DC, directly across the street from the Metro Center station exit -
