>Handyman - LifeCare Bank, a program of Community Services Council, is recruiting for a full-time employee to perform critical home maintenance and repairs for low-income older and/or disabled clients. The scope of work is limited to jobs which do not require a building permit or a licensed contractor. LifeCare Bank staff provides minor carpentry, electrical repairs, appliance repair, plumbing, cooler/furnace maintenance and repairs, painting, window and door repair and all other aspects of minor home repairs.
>Applicants should be experienced in a broad range of home repair and maintenance and be familiar with the tools used for these tasks. They will be expected to have good communication skills for working with clients and other staff. Other essential qualities are patience and a genuine interest in helping older adults, ability to maintain written reports and records, a valid Utah drivers license and a clean driving record. The starting pay for this position is $10.43 per hour. Please apply in person at 1025 S. 700 W., SLC, 84104 M-F between 8:30 and 4:00. >Client Services Team Member - LifeCare Bank, a program of Community Services Council, has a part-time opening for our outreach team. The ideal candidate will have a BA in a Human Services field and 2 years experience or 5 years of Human Services program experience, preferably in aging-related areas. A certificate in gerontology is preferred. Other requirements are a valid Utah drivers license and clean driving record; excellent teamwork skills; computer experience with word processing, spreadsheets, database, e-mail and internet; ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in English (hiring preference may be given to persons bilingual in Spanish and English); and a genuine committment to providing services to LifeCare Bank's client base of older and/or disabled adults.
>Job duties include: as part of the outreach team, design and implement methods to ensure that eligible older and disabled persons have access to program services; coordinate assistance for clients beyond standard intake for LifeCare Bank and refer to other agencies as appropriate and necessary; continual efforts to reach out to new clients, utilizing creativity and community contacts, etc.; help with recruiting and training of volunteers and with on-going management of volunteer services to support LifeCare's programs. Candidates should have the ability to maintain accurate records and complete reports as needed. Much of the work takes place in the homes of clients and potential clients, so a good knowledge of Salt Lake County is helpful. Starting pay for the position is $12.86 per hour.
