JOB POSTING
Position:   Education Director
Classification:  Full-Time, Exempt
Responsible To:  Director of Marketing / Membership

Accountabilities:
• Provide direction for the training function consistent with council
goals and GSUSA adult education programs.
• Recruit, train, and manage council volunteer trainers.
• Oversee curriculum, outlines, and materials for training courses
offered to adults and girls.
• Manage the development of program elements for grants and manage
training budget.
• Supervise two staff members to ensure the development of cutting-edge,
meaningful training opportunities for adult volunteers in Girl Scouting.

• Supervise and manage the training function.
• Plan, design, deliver, and evaluate a variety of creative resources to
meet volunteer needs.
• Offer new, exciting networking opportunities that meet the needs of
the volunteers.
• Inform department/council on GSUSA training direction, ideas, and
implementation.
• Identify training opportunities for council trainers, update trainer
files, and handle notification of all training group meetings.  Oversee
staff training opportunities.
• Interpret and promote Girl Scouting to community groups through
formal/informal speaking opportunities, demonstrating ability to
articulate the Girl Scout mission, program goals and council training
objectives.
• Support council fundraising efforts.

Position Specifications:
•  Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in
organizational marketing and or management.
•  Minimum of three years experience in training, sales, marketing,
education, community organization or related fields.
•  Demonstrated abilities in planning, managing multiple priorities,
marketing, public speaking, and achieving results in partnership with
others.
•  Excellent human relations, oral and written communication skills.
•  Computer literate in Microsoft office, email, and internet
applications.
•  Girl Scout knowledge and experience.
•  Willingness to work a minimum of 37.5 hours per week as an exempt
staff, which may include some evenings and occasional Saturdays.
•  Must have reliable transportation, current Utah driver’s license, and
full coverage automobile insurance.
•  This position requires moving room furniture for training set-up and
lifting/moving training materials, thus requires the ability to bend,
lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
•  Understanding of and commitment to pluralism.  Willing to accept the
belief and principles of the Girl Scout movement and the ability to work
with diverse populations.

Salary:     $30,500 annual
