STARTING SALARY: GRADE 25 - $3390/MO.
GRADE 27 - $3734/MO.

Administers the Open Space Trust Fund; establishes positive 
relationships with applicants, environmental/non-profit organizations, 
County Council members, applicable County personnel and local community 
members and advocates; actively seeks out open space land purchase 
opportunities throughout Salt Lake County; negotiates Open Space Trust 
Fund funding partnerships to leverage funding for maximum environmental 
impact; works with appropriate County Divisions on open space land 
purchase negotiations; works with CFO and SLCO
Bond Council regarding establishment of bonds; markets, promotes and 
informs community agencies, organizations and individuals about the 
program; assist applicants throughout the application process; create 
and maintain Open Space database and mailing list; update Open Space 
website (provide content, update, and monitor); coordinate internal 
evaluations and applications; organize and facilitate public speaking 
engagements, meetings and forums as needed; draft, propose and 
facilitate Ordinance changes as necessary in relation to the program 
needs; coordinates, develops and implements a SLCO Open Space Master 
Plan; develop RFP and assist in selection committee; assist in plan 
implementation, update and evaluation; serve as staff support to the 
Open Space Trust Fund Advisory Committee; prepare and assist with 
Committee recommendations and presentations to the County Council; 
develop an Open Space Annual Report in collaboration with the Trust Fund 
Committee; assist in the identification, research, analysis, design and 
implementation of special projects that will enhance Community Services 
and SLCO environmental policy; conduct research and provide information 
and technical assistance to Community Services Department, Elected 
Officials and Division Directors; work collaboratively with the SLCO 
Environmental Coordinator on related projects; prepare written and oral 
reports as requested; serve on various committees as assigned; attend 
press conferences and events pertinent to the success of the Open Space 
Program; perform other related duties as assigned.

*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:*
GRADE 25 Graduation from an accredited college or university with a 
bachelor’s degree in business administration, political science, public 
policy, environmental studies or other closely related field plus three 
(3) years of experience in a field closely related to these duties; *OR 
*an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
GRADE 27 Graduation from an accredited college or university with a 
bachelor’s degree in business administration, political science, public 
policy, environmental studies or other closely related field plus four 
(4) years of experience in a field closely related to these duties; *OR 
*an equivalent combination of related education and experience.

25/27 career ladder. Grants preparation/management experience may be 
preferred. Qualified applicants will be considered up to the highest 
grade for which they qualify.
