(607) Salary: $3854 - $4993 mo.
Estimated monthly compensation including salary and basic benefits
$5422 - $6780*
*Based on current family medical coverage, employee term life and AD&D 
insurance, Post Employment Health Account and retirement benefits. Utah 
Retirement System pension benefits vest after four years. Vacation, 
holiday and other leave benefits are in addition.

Under direction of the Division Director, coordinates the planning, 
development, organization, implementation, and supervision of the 
Sorenson Unity Center and its programs, including technology, drop-in 
day care, the performing arts and all gallery spaces.  Maintains 
relationships with Center partners, Salt Lake County, Donated Dental, 
and Salt Lake Community College.  Works with community groups and 
leaders to ensure that everyone has access and feels welcome to the 
Unity Center programs.  Builds and maintains community and partner 
relationships for maximum utilization of the Center space. Hires and 
supervises Center staff.  Maintains collaborative relationships with 
Sorenson Multi-Cultural Center staff and coordinates programs. Prepares 
and monitors annual operating and capital budget for the Center.  
Negotiates and monitors contracts; grant writing and sponsorship work. 
Serves as media contact for the Center and assures appropriate PR 
materials are available for the Center. Responsible for scheduling, 
supervising and renting the facility in accordance with City policy. 
Serves as convener and staff to Center's Advisory Board. Monitors all 
facility and grounds to ensure a safe environment for patrons and proper 
use of facilities and equipment. Oversees inventory of equipment, keys, 
and vehicle use/maintenance, and enforces the Center's Rules and Code of 
Conduct.  Responsible for behavioral management of patrons within the 
facility and grounds. Participates as a member of the Division 
management team.  Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

.    Graduation from an accredited four year college with a bachelor's 
degree in Public Administration, Recreation, Business Management, or 
related field, and five (5) year's related experience including two (2) 
years' supervisory responsibility.
.    Strong writing and public relations skills.  Ability to communicate 
effectively with people from various social and ethnic backgrounds.
.    Knowledge of budgeting and record keeping.
.    Ability to work odd shifts which may include days, evenings, 
weekends and holidays.
.    Valid Utah Driver's License.

Desired Skills:   Bilingual and experience in Community Building.
