GENERAL DESCRIPTION (NOT INCLUSIVE)
Under the general direction and guidance of the Division Administrator 
is accountable for the balancing, reconciliation and reporting of all 
monies collected by Salt Lake County. Ensures that procedures are in 
compliance with established guidelines under Utah State statutes, County 
ordinances, governmental accounting standards, and generally accepted 
accounting principles. Manages the County Treasurer's general accounting 
and tax accounting operations; reviews monthly general ledger of all 
accounts and balances before closing records; reviews and authorizes all 
journal entries; reviews bank reconciliations. Prepares final settlement 
and preparation of reports for tax entities; verifies accuracy of tax 
district mill levy rates; balances and reviews apportionment program to 
ensure all districts are included and rates are correct. Reviews 
collection reports, balances current collections, and requests 
apportionment transfers to tax districts. Reviews all interest accounts 
for accuracy and makes adjustments. Supervises assigned staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's 
degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration with an 
accounting emphasis or other closely related field plus six (6) years of 
increasingly progressive experience, at least one (1) year of which must 
have been in a supervisory, administrative or management capacity; *or* 
an equivalent combination of related education and experience. Education 
may not be substituted for the required supervisory, administrative or 
management experience.

In order to receive credit for education, applicants *must* submit a 
photocopy of an official transcript to Human Resources by the closing date.

A CPA certificate and/or governmental accounting experience may be 
preferred.
