The New York City Department of Consumer Affairs' Office of Financial Empowerment (OFE) is a dynamic office committed to financial empowerment and asset building for New York City residents.  OFE seeks a Director for Financial Empowerment Research. OFE has developed a nationally-recognized robust research agenda that informs both our programmatic directions and broader policy work in the field of financial access, education, asset-building and consumer protections. Reporting to the Deputy Commissioner for Financial Empowerment, the Director for Research responsibilities include: creating and implementing a research plan for OFE; supervising a staff of research analysts to design and conduct research initiatives; coordinating external researchers and contractors; providing research support to investigation and enforcement efforts; overseeing data analysis; drafting papers, reports and major studies; and disseminating and presenting on research findings.

Ideal candidates shall possess: a master's degree from an accredited college in economics, public administration, organizational behavior and\or statistics, and demonstrated experience with both quantitative and qualitative research design and implementation; excellent analytical and writing skills; experience and comfort level in implementing diverse methodological approaches; supervisory experience in managing a dynamic and diverse team and be a self-starter with strong sense of initiative and organizational skills.
