Position Title:  Grant Officer

Job Summary: The Office of Sponsored Projects inspires superior grant practice by developing and maintaining a robust grant administration infrastructure, and providing exceptional service and leadership in the pursuit and management of scholarly grant-related activities at Salt Lake Community College. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, highly organized individual to fill the open position of Grant Officer.



The Grant Officer is a key member of the Office of Sponsored Projects and plays a crucial role in creating a culture of excellence in grant administration. Serving as a lead team member managing a portfolio of sponsored projects throughout their life-cycle, the Grant Officer is proficient in grant strategy, project development and management, budgeting, negotiation, compliance, and grant-related training. The Grant Officer is a professional, in conduct and appearance, who understands the principles of grant administration, follows established processes and procedures, and provides expertise, oversight and support to assigned college departments, faculty, principle investigators and project staff.



Grant portfolio management/administration includes:

1. Pre-Award Responsibilities

2. Post-Award Responsibilities

3. Compliance Responsibilities



Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business, communication, finance, public administration, healthcare administration, non-profit management, science or related field. One-year project management experience, and direct, full-time, paid experience in one or a combination of the following areas: public grant administration (pre and post award), nonprofit management, fundraising, contract management, project management, proposal development/grant writing, government policy and regulations, budgeting/accounting, legislative/business analyst.



Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree. Three (3) years direct, full-time experience in grant administration or a combination of the areas listed above. Experience in higher education.
